Title: Storm Fall ( Rebel Wing #2) Author: Tracy Banghart Publisher: Alloy Entertainment Publication Date: December 16th, 2014 Genre: YA, Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Romance Format: e ARC My Rating: 5/5 stars (A) Blurb: In the action-packed sequel to Rebel Wing, Aris battles for life and love . . . and not everyone will survive. Aris Haan gave up everything to join the Atalantan Military: her family, her boyfriend, even her identity. In the end, though, it didn’t matter that she was a war hero. When the all-male Military discovered that she was actually a woman, she was sent home and erased from history. Now she has a chance to go back to the battlefield—as herself. But as hard as it was to be a soldier in disguise, it’s even more difficult now. The men in her unit undermine her at every turn. The Safaran army has spies everywhere, perhaps even on Aris’s stationpoint. And she’s falling for her mysterious superior officer, Milek. But their relationship is forbidden, just stolen moments between training sessions and missions. There’s no room for love in war. Then Aris discovers that Safara’s leaders have set their sights on her, Atalanta’s hero. And she must find them before they find her My Review: I received Storm Fall from Alloy Entertainment via NetGalley in exchange with an honest review. So we all know how sometimes the second book in a series is a huge let down to the readers, well Storm Fall does not fall under this category ! I absolutely loved this as much as the first book, if not more. The Book begins with a new law being added, which is ( Women can volunteer to enter the Military). Of course, Aris volunteers , because the Military is now her life. Of course, there is also Milek ! However, he is not the reason why she is going back. She loves the fact that she can save people. Returning there as a women won't be easy. Almost everyone look down at her , or even worse, harass her. The Plot thickens as Sadara's leaders feel that they are threatened by Aris, and would stop at nothing to bring her and Atlanta down. As if the action was not enough, the interaction between characters develops , and adds new conflicts to the story. We also get more Ariek ( Romance) , which is awesome. I really enjoyed Storm Fall as much as I loved Rebel Wings. Perhaps even more; I mean it contains more action and more romance! I give it 5/5 stars and an A according to my own rating scale !

Title: Imitation ( Clone Chronicles #1) Author: Heather Hildenbrand Publisher: Alloy Entertainment Publication Date : July 29, 2014 Format: E ARC My Rating: 4/5 stars (B) Blurb: Everyone is exactly like me. There is no one like me. Ven wrestles with these contradicting truths every day. A clone of wealthy eighteen-year-old Raven Rogen, Ven knows everything about the girl she was created to serve: the clothes she wears, the boys she loves, the friends she loves to hate. Yet she’s never met the Authentic Raven face-to-face. Imitations like Ven only get to leave the lab when they’re needed—to replace a dead Authentic, donate an organ, or complete a specific mission. And Raven has never needed Ven . . . until now. When there is an attack on Raven’s life, Ven is thrust into the real world, posing as Raven to draw out the people who tried to harm her. But as Ven dives deeper into Raven’s world, she begins to question everything she was ever told. She exists for Raven, but is she prepared to sacrifice herself for a girl she’s never met? My Review: I received an e ARC of Imitation from Alloy Entertainment via NetGalley in exchange with an honest review . Imagine that for every important and wealthy person , there is probably an imitation made for him/her. As in a spare clone copy trained to be whoever they look like in case of any crisis. Sometimes there are used as Organ donors . They all live in Twig City, and it is Ven's turn to serve her duty. However she is not very sure that she wants to. I loved the plot of this story, it packs elements such as action, mystery, and romance all together. Facing the maker will be an unforgettable experience . I was and still am lost on if he is the bad or the good guy. When it comes to the romance ,I liked it. However , I felt like the guy of interest showed up way too much. It is like whenever I wished that he appears, he did. I know that this might be a good thing for some, but for me, I prefer being a bit tortured before seeing to specific characters together. Guess what, Imitation is being made into a T.V show, which is amazing ! Now I get to see Twig City and all of the awesome characters ,as well as the villains. I enjoyed Imitation , and will be continuing the series. I give it 4/5 stars and a B according to my own rating scale. Title: Rebel Wing ( Rebel Wing #1) Author: Tracy Banghart Publisher: Alloy entertainment Publication Date: July 29th, 2014 Genre: New Adult, War, Dystopia, Sci-Fi, Romance Format: eARC My Rating: 5/5 ( A) Blurb: The Dominion of Atalanta is at war. But for eighteen-year-old Aris, the fighting is nothing more than a distant nightmare, something she watches on news vids from the safety of her idyllic seaside town. Then her boyfriend, Calix, is drafted into the Military, and the nightmare becomes a dangerous reality. Left behind, Aris has nothing to fill her days. Even flying her wingjet—the thing she loves most, aside from Calix—feels meaningless without him by her side. So when she’s recruited to be a pilot for an elite search-and-rescue unit, she leaps at the chance, hoping she’ll be stationed near Calix. But there’s a catch: She must disguise herself as a man named Aristos. There are no women in the Atalantan Military, and there never will be. Aris gives up everything to find Calix: her home. Her family. Even her identity. But as the war rages on, Aris discovers she’s fighting for much more than her relationship. With each injured person she rescues and each violent battle she survives, Aris is becoming a true soldier—and the best flyer in the Atalantan Military. She’s determined to save her Dominion . . . or die trying. For fans of Divergent, Code Name Verity, and The 100, Rebel Wing is an epic sci-fi adventure that explores just how far one girl will go for love and country. My Review: I received an eARC of Rebel wing from Alloy Entertainment via NetGalley in exchange with an honest review . The beginning of the story itself is a kind of a retelling of Mulan. We follow the story of Aris,a girl who loves to fly and can hardly wait to be promised by the love of her life Calix. However things do not go according to plan when Calix is chosen to join the Military and leave Aris unpromised. feeling heart broken, she lost her love for flying and when she was offered a chance to join the military as flyer, she takes it. But women aren't allowed to enter the Military , and entering means being highly fit. Could Aris overcome her fragility and make it in? Will she reunite with Calix? Could she actually fit in and help rescue other people? I know, it sounds kick Ass right? I loved the transformation that Aris has gone through, which was from being dependent on everyone to being strong enough to stand for what she believes. The Author did that in a very impressive way through out the book. I was able to connect to how each character was feeling very easily. It was as if I was right there;like I was in their shoes. This is book that I had a really hard time to put it down. The book was a perfect escape route from my exams. Each reading session left me eager to read more and quite refreshed to carry on with my studying. I loved this book and I believe that it is going to be one of my favorite series. It has this perfect mix of character development, action, and love. I give this book 5/5 stars and an A according to my own rating scale ! Together, Phoenix and Ronnie devise a plan to stop their corrupt government and preempt the dangerous rebel coup which is approaching. But when their plan goes awry, will Ronnie be strong enough to save Phoenix, her country, and herself? My Review: I received an ARC of The Letting fro YA bound books in exchange with an honest review. This book is different than anything I have read lately. It is showing a darker, scarier aspect of how the human race might end up to be. The word Selfish is taken to a new level. This book is like the story of Elizabeth Bathory , who killed virgins for her youth , with some kick ass plot twist. The story fellows Veronica, who is a legend for sending the greatest amount of Lettings. What is a Letting? Something like getting blood withdrawal ! She used to think that she was serving the society, which turns out to be wrong. She is serving the government, yeah, but since it is a Dystopian novel, then it has to be a corrupted and serving its own agenda. The only thing i did not like is how Veronica was so desperate to please everyone. She bored out with how everyone who point her previous mistakes, she had the surge to apologize. However towards the end, she seem to have gone through some development in her character, making this book carry some great character development within it. The world building was great. The way the author captured how simple the camp was and how fancy the houses and people on the other side were is amazing. The story did not miss the element of Romance. Phoenix, who started as hating and despising her, ended up falling in love with her. However, he did not show it first. he was able to hide it under his previous disgust with what veronica has done in the past. On the Other hand, the person ruling this messed up society falls for veronica. Although he is supposed to be evil, yet the authors finds a way to make you like him at some points. I did not know that there was a second book until the last page! The book ended with a cliffhanger that haunted me for a couple of days. I absolutely loved this book and I am looking forward to read book 2 when it come out. I give The letting 4/5 stars and a (B+) according to my own rating scale. Title: Anomaly ( Schrodinger's Consortium #1 ) Author: Tonya Kuper Publisher: Entangled Teen Publication Date: November 25th , 2014 Genre: Sci-Fi, YA, Romance, Dystopian Format: eARC My Rating: 5/5 stars ( A-) Blurb: Reality is only an illusion. And he’s the only thing standing between me and the secret organization that wants me dead… My Review: I received and e ARC of Anomaly from Entangled Teen via NetGalley and YA Bound Blog in exchange with an honest review. Anomaly is a book that captures your attention just like that; when you are only a few pages in! Not only is the plot absolutely original, but also the character development is incredible . I found Josie always confused with the way she feels towards her mother. At first it was a bit confusing to read, but as the story went on, Josie became a bit stronger and started to have a bit more rigid believes. The way the author,Tonya, made physics rules an explanation of the characters' powers , which is making things appear and disappear by just thinking it , is just absolutely mind blowing. Although the setting is just a typical city, but the author's description of secret rooms and the way things appear and disappear is amazing. And now we come to the Romance part; I absolutely shipped Josie and Reid !! And the best thing is that the story was told from both of their P.O.V. So I was able to get a glimpse of what each one of them is thinking! With a story packed with humor, action, love, and trust, Anomaly is a book that I was not able to put down. Especially when each chapter left you hanging, not giving a complete closure to what happen. I loved Anomaly and I personally can't wait to read the second book in the series. My Review: I received an e ARC copy of Catch me When I fall from Curiosity Quills Press via NetGalley in exchange with an honest Review . This book is a perfect read for The Mortal Instruments fans. You will be blown away with the world building and the fighting scenes. The concept of there are people who weave dreams and fight away nightmares got me all hooked up on the story. There were times were I got a bit confused. How could Kayla, who have gone through certain devastating events in the past have these frequent bursts of bravery and trust? I started the book with great interest, fell a bit uncertain if I am going to like or not, then ended up liking it again. Overall, I really recommend this to all of Cassandra Clare readers; you will love it. I personally can't wait for book 2 in this amazing series. I give it 3/5 stars and a C+ according to my own rating scale. |
